Guilt

I battle with guilt. About everything. And this blasted blog is adding to it. I haven't written in so long -- really why did I do this? (I know, it's not like I have thousands of followers waiting to hear what I'm doing with my life!)

Then it occurred to me -- when I live my last day on this earth, will I wish I blogged more? No. I'll wish I spent even more time doing what I'm doing... living with, loving on and watching my babies.

A wise (and I dare say holy) man once noted that "[t]here are two sources for change within you. One is the cunningness of your ego that pushes you into making efforts to become something other than you were meant to be so that it can give itself a boost, so that it can glorify itself. The other is the wisdom of Nature..."

In other words, stop trying so hard and just be. God's got ya covered. There's loads of peace, love and happiness to be found right where you are--in the loving arms of a God who is not just the architect of these things but is in His very essence Peace, Love and Happiness. It's the agitation of our scheming egos that troubles the waters that yearn to rest and be still and participate in the Divine Love. (Thinking we can achieve peace, love and happiness through our efforts is not unlike thinking we can achieve salvation. Get it?)

If that sentiment doesn't turn you on, take a peek at what science has discovered: our brains default to happiness in whatever circumstance we find ourselves and--surprise!--we're actually happier when we stop trying so hard to get happy and just let Nature work its magic.

  3. Girl enjoy your life blogging or not...you don't owe us a word. We enjoy them. Your goal is to be a mother who is in the moment not going "Honey as soon as I get my blog done I will play with you" God bless you for putting those babies before this!

  4. Guilt is a funny thing. It plays tricks with us. Everything we do is never enough. We try to measure up to what the Ego says needs to be done, must be done, but we also never hit the mark. It is our reminder that we must go to God for assistance, for guidance, for mercy. We always fall short of what we believe we must be which is why we can always fall on God to be all that we need to be.
